Town for all to explore and enjoy. The Club's Charities Committee also
allocates significant funding toward disasters that occur in our Country
like Forest Fires and devastating Storms in communities both locally and
throughout the USA. |
Through fund
raising activities that our club operates the Newtown Lions Club is able
to to make significant contributions toward Childhood Cancer research
and locally Hope for Main Street a program to support the American
Cancer Society. Additionally the Newtown Lions support Healing the
Children. |
Another major Service
Program that the club funds and operates is our local Eye Screening
Program where thousands of School Children are screened annually for
Vision Health. This is all in support of our ongoing involvement in the
major KidSight initiative that Lions International sponsors. We also
help to fund Lions Low Vision Centers which provide eyesight aids to
those in need and local Vision and Hearing are supported through the
Newtown Social Services. There are multiple programs for the Blind
supported by our club like Fidelco, Guiding Eyes for the Blind,
Connecticut Lions Eye Research (CLERF), and the Connecticut Radio
